Mohammad Ali Bappi has been elected as the President and Md. Majedul Haque Majed as the General Secretary in the triennial (2025-28) election of the Leather Engineers and Technologists Society, Bangladesh (LETSB). Bappi secured 243 votes, while Majed received 348 votes.
On Friday (February 14), after a day-long election at the Institute of Leather Engineering and Technology in Hazaribagh, Dhaka, the election results were announced in the evening by the Election Commission Chairman, Md. Takdir Ahmed.
The other elected members are:
- Vice President: Md. Abdul Hakim
- Joint General Secretary (Leather Technology): Shah Alam
- Joint General Secretary (Leather Products): Md. Mamunur Rashid Mamun
- Organizing Secretary: Md. Khaled Ibn Mosharraf Mithu
- Sports Secretary: Anisur Rahman Shishir
Notably, the election took place in a festive atmosphere after a decade, with voting conducted from 8 AM to 4 PM on Friday. A total of 15 candidates contested for 7 positions, with 564 registered voters participating in the election.
