Managing Editor – Leather & Footwear HIVE

About the Role

Footwear Exchange is looking for a dynamic and passionate Managing Editor to lead the editorial operations of Leather & Footwear HIVE while supporting the day-to-day activities of the Footwear Exchange platform.

This is more than an editorial role. The selected candidate will be responsible for creating, curating, and managing industry knowledge, ensuring that Footwear Exchange remains the leading source of news, insights, and thought leadership for the leather and footwear industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete editorial process of Leather & Footwear HIVE, from planning to publication.
• Develop and maintain the editorial calendar.
• Research, write, edit, and publish industry news, feature stories, interviews, and opinion pieces.
• Coordinate with contributors, industry experts, photographers, and designers.
• Ensure high editorial quality, accuracy, and consistency.
• Monitor local and global leather & footwear industry developments and prepare timely content.
• Support day-to-day operations of Footwear Exchange, including industry communication, events, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• Manage digital content across the website, newsletter, and social media platforms.
• Build relationships with industry stakeholders to generate exclusive stories and collaborations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Business, Marketing, Fashion, Leather Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in editorial, media, journalism, content management, or corporate communications.
• Excellent writing and editing skills in English. Bengali proficiency is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of digital publishing and content management.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and coordinate with diverse stakeholders.
• Interest or experience in the leather, footwear, fashion, or manufacturing industry will be highly preferred.
