Sector HIGHLIGHT
- Second quarter (Q2) of 2020-2021 Bangladesh Leather, footwear and allied sector overall struggling, -2% negative compare last year Q2 and -9% compare to strategic target of Q2.
- This quarter, overall leather segment (leather, leather product and leather footwear) seems go almost side by side with strategic target and with last year same period.
- Other footwear seems struggling to perform like Q1, -25% compare to target and -7% compare to last year performance.
Month wise, it is steadily following same trend as predicted but with lower value.
Leather and leather product (excluding leather footwear) performed comparatively better than Q1, only -2% compare to target and -6% compare to last year performance.
Footwear (both leather footwear and others footwear) sub-sector keep same figure as last year Q2 but not reach target set for this Q2, -11% comparing target.
HS Code 41 II LEATHER report
Leather (HS code 41) is doing better in this quarter compare to Q1, +10% growth for this quarter compare to target that push to reach as target set for HALF year. Still not growing compare to last year same period or half yearly period but COVID impact huge for this segment.
HS Code 42-43 II LEATHER PRODUCTS report
Leather Product (HS code 42-43) is doing better in this quarter compare to Q1, that minimize gap with target and last year same period performance.
